The children have enjoyed listening to a range of wonderful and captivating stories this week as we have celebrated National Storytelling week. Mr Eardley began the week by sharing a stunning animated iPad story called 'The Pedlar Lady of Gushing Cross', the story of a poor old peddler woman who discovers good fortune by following her dreams.

Miss Hinchliffe told the children in KS1 the Māori Creation Myth called Papa and Rangi.

Mr Marks shared a gripping tale called 'The Midnight Parade' about monsters under Jame's bed!

Mrs Bolton had the children in KS2 on tender hooks as she told a range of 'spooky' short stories.

Years Three and Four 2CanLearn!!
This morning (31.1.12) the children in years 3 and 4 were joined by their parents for a maths lesson! All the children and adults were taught a new method for solving division problems. Parents, children and teachers all spoke positively about the technique and we hope to see them using it independently during future lessons. A big thanks to all those mums and dads that were able to join us!
iPad Training
On Tuesday 17th January all the teachers and many of the teaching assistants were given training on how to use our new iPads. Sally Elding from Godmanchester IT support ran the session and it proved to be a very useful experience. Sally brought with her 20 iPads loaded with great educational Apps and worked through how to use many of them within the classroom. Teachers and TAs had the opportunity to discuss in teams how they could start to use this mobile technology in and out of the classroom. Year 5 and 6 are using them to explore the night sky in their 2CanLearn session this week and many of the children have used them during numeracy sessions. There are so many fantastic Apps available for them we can see them being used in all areas of the curriculum.
