Parents' Forum
This year we introduced Parents' Forum as a new initiative to improve communication between home and school.
Parents' Forum takes place in the Staffroom, between 9 and 10 a.m. on the last Friday of each month. Tea, coffee and cakes are provided and a creche is available if you need to bring along a younger child.
Our Headteacher, Mr Eardley, leads the first half of the session and a governor is always present. Parents' Forum is open to any parent who wishes to attend. A letter is sent out in the week prior to Parents' Forum to let parents know which topics are on the agenda.
The second half of the meeting in open for parents to raise topics which they are intersted in. This allows for a full and frank discussion.
In our recent Ofsted Inspection (Jan 2010) Parents' Forum received the following praise;
'The parents’ forum fulfils an extremely useful function, enabling parents and carers to be actively involved in shaping school and curriculum policy.'
