Poppy from the Toucans has created this super character description of Odysseus, using Purple Mash. Can you spot her relative clause and use of a colon? Well done Poppy!
In the Flamingoes class this week, we have been creating a character description of Odysseus. We applied our understanding of De:De sentences and relative clauses into our work. Here is an example of a published piece of work by Leo.
In the Sharks class this week, in English, we have been writing a non-chronological report based around the suffragettes. This is a piece of work written by Edward.
Millie from the Toucans has produced a super Lewis Chessman out of clay this week. Before the final piece was produced, Millie carried out research on the history of Lewis Chessmen and created a double page spread, tinkered with clay to look at how to join pieces, using a clay slip and then designed and modelled her final piece. Well done!
In the Flamingoes class today, we have been writing motivational speeches. This is a great example by Emma.
In the Cobras PE class this week, we have been learning how to apply the passing rules of rugby into game situations. As a class, we have worked extremely hard to use team work and communication to help us score tries.
In the Sharks class this week we have been learning about how we can manage our behaviours, linked to our changing emotions.
This piece of work is by Lucy F to represent this.
Charlotte from Toucans has thought carefully about the needs of a good settlement and how settlers would establish their area. She has considered how materials would be acquired to build homes. She has used some of our new key vocabulary to help her explanation. Well done.
This week Year 5 enjoyed a Viking Experience Day at Perlethorpe. Here are two Flamingoes grinding flour as part of their exploration of Viking home life.
In the Cobras class this week, Willow created a one-page spread about electricity, outlining all the information.
In the Sharks this week we have been constructing our own playing cards, linked to our British Monarchy topic. Daniel created his card from mixed media, including paper, paint, sketching pencils, tissue paper and collage.
