Year 5 Football Team Battle Hard!

2/5/13

St Botolphs Primary School made a return visit to Orton Wistow for a match with our Year Five team. The boys looked brilliant in our new blue and yellow kits. This was the first time many of them had played in a competetive football match and they fought hard against a more experienced St Botolphs team. At half time we were losing by four goals and the boys were looking tired. After quick rest, drink and teamtalk they were ready to give it their all in the second half. They kept their heads up after conceding another 2 goals and started to play as a team, offering encouragement to their team mates and after a series of well placed passes Liam scored Wistow's only goal and it was a screamer! The boys should feel very proud of the way they played and I'm sure they have learnt a lot from their first game together. Alfie was voted man of the match for his consistent hard work and determination throughout!
