Musicals Virtual Big Sing

A virtual singing competition for children aged 7-11 years old.

With most children missing out on singing in school at the moment, this is a fantastic opportunity for primary-age kids to get creative and have some fun.

ALL children aged 7-11 can take part completely free of charge… all you need to do to be part of the Peterborough Musicals Virtual Choir is learn the song 'Where is Love' from the musical Oliver, video yourself performing it and submit your entry by Monday 12th April.

Will Prideaux, our director, will judge the best entry and the winner will receive a Yamaha PSR-EW300 (or similar) keyboard, a fabulous prize for budding musicians!

“Music and singing are just as important now as they always have been – we’ve had to think creatively about ways to keep singing during lockdown and the virtual choir is a fun, safe, way to get kids involved and engaged with singing and performing... get involved today!”

— Will Prideaux, director

The virtual choir project is part of the ambitious Arts Council England-funded Peterborough singing strategy being delivered by Peterborough Sings! on behalf of Peterborough Music Hub and Peterborough City Council and has been organised instead of the popular schools’ singing days which normally take place twice annually at the Cresset.

With thousands of participants so far, these are themed to a particular musical genre - Abba, Beatles, West End – and have been fantastically well received by schools, teachers, parents and children from across the city and beyond.
