Dear Parents/Carers,
The majority of the week has been glorious, but it seems we may have been lured into a false sense of summer as the forecast next week may require us all to have our coats back on - just in time for the bank holiday!
Y1 2 Can Learn
Thank you to all of the adults who joined Year 1 for their 2 Can Learn earlier in the week. The Hall was buzzing with creativity as the children all made their felt bunting, ready to help the school with our upcoming VE day celebrations. I am very much looking forward to seeing it up on display.
Year 4 Assembly
Year 4 have been engrossed in their rehearsals for class assembly throughout the week and are very excited to share their performance with you next week. For visitors of Year 4, wishing to come and watch, the performance is at 9:15am on Thursday 8th May. We look forward to welcoming you.
Sponsor Event - Friday 23rd May 2025
You should have received a paper copy of a letter outlining the details of this years’ Sponsor Event. On Friday 23rd May we shall be holding our annual sponsored event in school. Historically, these events have always been a great way to raise money to go towards some exciting things for the pupils at OWPS. In the past, we have raised money for Chromebooks, wet play equipment, books and topic related resources.
In connection to our school focus on Music and Art and following the huge success of Battle of the Voices in the Spring term, this year’s event will involve the whole school working collectively to sing as many songs as they can (Karaoke style) in 60 minutes.
All proceeds of our Sponsor Event this year will go towards the development of our lunchtime provision, in line with the OPAL (outdoor play and learning) programme we will be commencing from the Summer Term.
Have an enjoyable bank holiday weekend.
