Dear parents and carers,
We have reached the end of our first half term and we are all ready for a well-deserved break. It is the longest half-term of the year and we have fit in an incredible amount. Well done to the Penguins and Turtles for completing their very first half term at OWPS and to Miss Burch for her first half term as a qualified teacher!
Time to say Goodbye
We said farewell and good luck to Mrs. Summan and Mrs. Tams in our Friday assembly today. Both of them leave OWPS today to start new jobs after half term. Both said some lovely things in the assembly about our school and it is clear they will miss being part of the OWPS team as much as we will miss them.
Parents Evenings
After the first 24 hours of the School Cloud system being open for bookings we had over 65% of families make an appointment with their children's class teacher. The system remains open until Friday 7th November. We expect all parents/carers to attend this event and we look forward to seeing you all either on the 11th or 13th of November (19th for some Nighthawks appointments).
Meridian Trust Merger
The merger with the Meridian Trust is going ahead and we are set for the move to officially happen on 1st November. When the children return on Tuesday 4th we will be part of the Meridian Trust but, at this point, not a lot will have changed in school other than some new IT resources being installed over the break. There will be some other changes that happen over time as we align with some of the ways Meridian Trust work and we will keep you up to date with these when necessary. It will be business as usual on the 4th and we are all looking forward to the exciting things that the next half term brings.
I hope you all have a wonderful break. It has been a positive start to the year and all the OWPS pupils deserve a rest! I will see you all back in school soon.
