Dear parents and carers,
Another half-term draws to a close, and we can all enjoy a well-deserved half-term break. It has been a busy few days in school, finishing with this year's sponsored event, the OWPS 'Singathon!' Thank you to everyone who has helped the children raise money for the school, every penny will be going towards our new and exciting lunchtime project.
Girls Football Team
This week, the OWPS Girls football team represented the school at the finals that were played at the POSH ground. The team won all five games, scored ten goals and didn't concede any! A fabulous display of teamwork. My assembly this week was all about our learning tools and specifically Teamwork. We discussed the importance of having a shared goal and everyone playing their part. The girls could not have demonstrated this more perfectly at the tournament. We were the defending champions, and it is my job to get the school's name engraved onto the shield once again! Well done to all involved.
Special Events
Although our curriculum and the core subjects, including reading, writing and maths, are very important, we continue to make sure children that attend OWPS get to experience a lot more! Just this week we have had the football finals (mentioned above), the Year Five trip to the Space Museum, our annual sponsored event, the FOWS Summer term school disco and the mini-monsters workshop for EYFS! All of these additional activities, visits and experiences take a lot of organisation and reliance on staff giving more to the school. They are an important part of being a pupil at OWPS as it ensures all children get to take part in a wide variety of additional experiences. I'd like to thank all of those that have helped make them happen.
We look forward to seeing you all back in school on Monday 2nd June. Have a wonderful week everyone!
