Dear parents and carers,
Another week has flown by, and we are nearly halfway through 2025! It was great to see a lot of our new EYFS parents in school on Tuesday for our transition evening. I shared with them that their little ones will start in September and will be at OWPS until 2032! Always hard to believe. We discussed the importance of the partnership we have between home and school and that I was pleased so many had come along to this first event for them as a cohort. In a few weeks' time, we will have our transition week for all the other children. They will get to spend two days with their new class teacher and in their new class. On Wednesday 2nd July, after the children's first day of transition, we will have our transition evening presentations for parents of children currently in EYFS to Year Five. We will send home additional information about this in the coming weeks, but we would like all families to attend as important information will be shared, and it is a chance to meet your children's new class teachers.
Year Six Residential
This week, over forty of our oldest pupils have gone to London on their final OWPS residential. Having been on this trip before, it offers something quite different to the other residentials and creates some wonderful memories for the children, including seeing a musical! I was never a fan of musicals until I went on this residential and accompanied the children to see Matilda. I was instantly converted and have enjoyed all the shows I have seen on this great trip. We look forward to hearing all about their three days in the capital.
Sports Days
I am sure, like us, many of you are looking forward to coming into school to watch the children take part in this year's sports days. Mr. Cowles and Mr. Nolan have been busy getting prepared, agreeing on some brand-new stations and re-stocking some vital PE resources for the KS2 and EYFS/KS1 sports day mornings.
KS2 Sports Day - Tuesday June 17th 9:30am-11:30am
EYFS/KS1 Sports Day - Thursday 26th June 9:30am-11:30am
Enjoy the sunshine everyone. See you back in school on Monday
