Dear Parents and Carers,
Sports Day Success
I hope this letter finds you well. I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the parents and family members who attended our KS1 Sports Day. Your support played an integral role in making the event a resounding success. The children represented our OWPS values superbly, showcasing teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship in an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and joy. We were fortunate that the weather held off, allowing all the planned activities to proceed smoothly.
House Captain Nominations
House Captain Nominations took place earlier today. Our Year 5 pupils are preparing to step into the shoes of our current Year 6s, having independently created their presentations. The entire school was energised as they listened to the 38 candidates who put themselves forward for this important role, representing our four houses: Dempsey, Mallard, Nene, and Fens. To add to the excitement, Mrs McColl established a polling station complete with ballot boxes for the rest of the school to cast their votes. The results of this election will be announced in a celebration assembly at the end of term. Good luck to all candidates!
Transition Days - Next Week
Looking ahead, I would like to remind you about our Transition Days scheduled for the 2nd and 3rd of July, where each pupil will have the opportunity to move up to their new class for two days. This event often brings about a great deal of speculation and excitement, but it serves as an excellent way for children to begin forging relationships with new peers and teachers ahead of the new school year in September. Children should come to school as normal on Wednesday, the 2nd, and will enter and leave from their current classroom on this day. Further details regarding this event will be sent to you separately at the beginning of next week.
Furthermore, we invite you to join us for a Transition Evening scheduled from 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, the 2nd of July. It would be great to see as many of you as possible as this event marks the beginning of a new academic year journey that we can embark on together.
We look forward to seeing you.
Warm regards,
Have an enjoyable weekend.
