Dear Parents and Carers,
It’s the penultimate week of a very long half term and again, what a busy and productive week it’s been.
Many of our KS2 classes have been completing assessments this week and have been excellent examples of perseverance and ‘Do Your Best’. Teachers are meeting regularly to discuss the progress of their pupils and analysis of the assessments is already underway to ensure upcoming lessons link to the current gaps in knowledge and understanding.
Sporting opportunities in school continue to run; just this week we have seen children attend a netball tournament at The Peterborough School, our girls football team remain unbeaten this year so far following another win against St Johns and our Sports Coach continues to support the delivery of P.E lessons across a range of classes.
Parents Evening
Today you will be receiving a separate letter, detailing arrangements for our upcoming parents evening on Tuesday 11th and Thursday 13th November. As previously, appointments will run virtually on School Cloud. The sign-up window for appointments will open on Monday 20th October at 12pm and remain open until 12pm on Friday 7th November. Teachers look forward to sharing how your child has settled into their new class as well as updating you on their learning progress.
Donations
Next week we take another step forward in our plans to revamp our lunchtime play offering, with the support of the OPAL programme. Our OPAL mentor is visiting to deliver whole staff training, complete a robust audit of our school grounds and implement the next phase of our action plan ready for launch. Further information will be shared with you when changes start to occur, however please ensure your child has an appropriate waterproof coat in school which will support outdoor play across the Autumn and Winter seasons.
Many of you may start to be considering a sort out of toys at home; to clear the way for the festive word I’m not ready to say just yet! Please remember us and bring in any items, in workable condition, that you no longer need.
Platform 1 are also on the hunt for new equipment to enhance their after-school club provision. If you have any of the following items to donate, please pass over to Kay Byrne who will be very appreciative!

Dolls , Buggies , baby bits

Wishing you all a very happy weekend
