Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been a real pleasure to welcome many of you into school this week. We greatly value the opportunity to open our doors and strengthen the partnership between home and school, and it has been wonderful to see such a positive engagement.
We have especially enjoyed seeing families take part in the Turtle Class ‘Stay and Play’ sessions in our Foundation Stage — these moments of shared learning are so valuable for our youngest pupils. It was also excellent to see Year 6 parents joining us for the SATs workshops, where important information and practical guidance were shared to support children in the lead-up to their assessments. In addition, having adults join their children for lunch is always a highlight and a lovely way to experience a small part of the school day together.
We are committed to welcoming our parent and carer community into school as often as we can, both through in-person events and through regular updates and celebrations shared on our Facebook page. Your involvement makes a meaningful difference to the children’s experience and sense of pride in their learning.
A reminder that Parent–Teacher consultations will take place next Tuesday and Thursday. These meetings provide a valuable opportunity to speak with your child’s class teacher about progress, achievements, and next steps. If you have not yet booked an appointment, there are still slots available via School Cloud.
Date for the Diary – World Book Day
In line with World Book Day, we are currently organising a range of exciting experiences for the children, including an online interactive workshop with author Mark Grist. Reading for pleasure continues to be a key priority for our school, as we shared with many of you at our curriculum evening last month, and this celebration will further support our aim of developing a lifelong love of reading.
To help families start planning creatively, we are pleased to confirm that Friday 5th March will be a dress-up day linked to books and reading. We look forward to seeing the children’s imaginative costume ideas.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership.
Have a great weekend.
