Dear Parents and Carers,
We have passed the halfway point of this academic year already and reached the end of another half-term! Spring term is four weeks shorter than the autumn, but we seem to fit in just as much. It has been a positive start to 2026, and we are all looking forward to a relaxing week, boosting our energy levels ready for spring 2.
Safer Internet Day 2026
Tuesday 10th February was National Safer Internet Day 2026 and the focus this year has been on the safe and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The Online Safety Rangers helped me in my assembly on Monday, sharing some important messages about how AI is being used in everyday life, and they got the children to think about when it can help us and when it might not be the right thing to use.

Year Four Assembly
On Wednesday, the Giraffes and Iguanas performed their year group assembly to parents, carers and family members. The assembly was all about the ancient Mayan civilisation, and we were all blown away by how much the children knew about this topic. I always enjoy the assemblies and productions we put on at Orton Wistow and I went home after this one sharing some of the amazing facts with my own family. Well done Year Four.
Apparently, tomorrow might be a little drier and we may see the sunshine! After an extremely wet start to the year, we must be due a bit of decent weather! I hope you all have a wonderful half-term. We shall see you back in school on Monday 23rd February.
