  • OWPS Girls V Braybrook Girls

    Published 28/11/25

The OWPS girl's football team had their next league match against Braybrook. We hosted at OWPS, and it was a cagey game to start with. It was very stop and start, but about halfway through the first half, Elsie scored a well-placed goal to put us 1-0 up going into half time.

The second half was very much the same, with Indie scoring a great goal from a long-thrown in. The girls won 2-0 and continue their unbeaten run in the league. Well done girls!

  • Premier League Primary Stars Under 11 Girls Cup

    Published 28/11/25

The girls football team participated in a national qualifying round at Peterborough United training ground to earn a spot in the next round.

The girls were placed in a tough group with some strong opposition. The girls played 4 matches in the group stage and didn't lose a game. As a result, they finished top of their group. This meant the girls placed in the top 4 schools on the day, an amazing achievement.

In the semifinal, we played a very strong team who beat us 2-0 but we held our heads high and reflected on a brilliant morning of football. The girls have plenty of other tournaments and league fixtures to look forward to in the coming months!

  • Parkrun Primary event 30.11.25

    Published 21/11/25

The children were recently introduced to an exciting new initiative, Parkrun Primary, as part of the school’s ongoing commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles. Building on the success of healthy breaktime snacks and the much-loved Wistow Mile track, the school is encouraging families to join the 2k Central Park Junior Parkrun on Sunday 30th November at 8.45am.

Although teachers may be present to cheer runners on, this is not a school-run event, and children remain the responsibility of their parents or carers throughout. Families will need to download a Parkrun barcode to register their child’s result, with more details available on the Parkrun website and at the event briefing. There is also an optional Parkrun app that can store barcodes and offer fun running challenges.

Parkrun website: home | Central Park junior parkrun | Central Park junior parkrun

The school hopes to see many Wistow families taking part. For further information, please contact the school office for the attention of Mr Nolan or Ms Porter.

On the 15th October, the netball team went to The Peterborough School for a netball festival. The games were not scored to keep things friendly — but between us, Wistow definitely racked up a few “unofficial wins”!  Well done Wistow! I am so proud of your amazing sportsmanship. Thank you ever so much to the Peterborough School for hosting such a wonderful afternoon of netball- we thoroughly enjoyed it! Medals were awarded to all teams and the snacks afterwards were greaty appreciated. The Sports Leaders at The Peterborough School also awarded a trophy to their player of the match- well done Arimai-Mya!
