Miss Tansley, the Director of Learning, writes....
Dear Parents/Carers,
As we begin the last half-term of the year, I would like to extend a warm welcome back to you and your children. This term is set to be an extremely busy and exciting time, filled with a variety of activities, and we do hope that we will also see some warmer weather in the weeks ahead! It keeps teasing us!
As you may be aware, our Year 6 students have already commenced rehearsals for the school production. This experience promises to be both enriching and enjoyable as they prepare for their upcoming performances. Additionally, we are making preparations for our transition days and the "Every Child an Artist" event, which aims to celebrate the creativity of our students. Furthermore, the eagerly anticipated Sports Days are on the horizon, offering further opportunities for our children to showcase their talents.
Year 5 Assembly
I would like to take this opportunity to share some highlights from our recent Year 5 Assembly, which centred around the theme of Space. The dress rehearsal was a tremendous success, and the performance this morning for family members showcased the children's confidence and stage presence. It was truly heartwarming to witness their efforts and enthusiasm. Thank you to all those who attended to watch.
Sports Days
Please make a note of the upcoming Sports Day dates: the Key Stage 2 Sports Day will take place on Tuesday 17th June, while the Key Stage 1 Sports Day is scheduled for Thursday, 26th June. More detailed information will be provided shortly. However, I can confirm that children will be encouraged to wear t-shirts in their house colours, and we would be delighted to welcome parents and guardians to cheer on our talented athletes.
Warmer Weather
With the summer season approaching, I kindly request that all jumpers and cardigans be clearly named to avoid any mix-ups. Additionally, as the days become warmer, it is essential for children to be sun-safe. Please ensure that your child brings a sun hat, wears sun cream, and has a reusable water bottle to keep hydrated throughout the day.
We look forward to welcoming you into school soon,
Miss R Tansley
