Dear Parents and Carers,
The final few days of September are now upon us and as the Autumn really begins to settle in, it is clear that the children have also established themselves in their new classes and year groups.
It has been great to see our Year 6 parents in school this week for our first Family Learning of the year. Our youngest children have also successfully completed their first full week in school, a huge well done to the Turtles and Penguins. I’m sure many will sleep well over the weekend! Year 5 have also returned from our first residential trip of the year. Hilltop provides an excellent array of activities; staff have noted the resilience and teamwork spirit of all those who attended this week. A huge thanks to the staff who supported the residential, without whom we wouldn’t be able to provide such valuable experiences.
Harvest
Mr Marks shared our Harvest assembly with the whole school this week. We will be collecting Harvest donations until Friday 3rd October. All proceeds will be given to the Peterborough Foodbank to support families across the city. Any donation, no matter how small, would be warmly received. See details below directly from the Peterborough Foodbank for your information.
Clubs
It is great to see clubs launch again for this academic year. Attending clubs allows children to develop their teamwork and social skills whilst also providing a wonderful opportunity to increase their interests and skills. It also supports them in showing dedication, commitment and responsibility for their time. We are grateful to all the staff in school who dedicate some time in their week to run a club. If your child has signed up to a club, we expect them to attend or if this isn’t possible that they notify the member of staff running the club that they won’t be present. This ensures that we keep all children safe whilst they are in our care. We’d appreciate you sharing this message with your child at home.
FOWS
The continual support and effort from our FOWs body provides our school with the funding to enhance the educational offer we provide to our pupils. Boosting our library selection, adding to wet play equipment and supplying new technology are just some of the ways FOWs events have benefitted our school in the past.
FOWs welcome any new members to the team and would love to see anyone interested in volunteering their time at their AGM on Tuesday 14th October at 7pm.
Wishing you all a very happy, restful weekend
