My name is Mary Foreman and I am delighted to introduce myself as Orton Wistow Primary School’s new chair of governors.
I would like to express my thanks on behalf of all the governors to Stuart Cleworth as my predecessor, for the time he spent as chair of governors providing excellent support and challenge to the headteacher and staff at the school.
I am thoroughly looking forward to my year as chair and am delighted that we have got off to such a good start to this academic year by receiving a wonderful Ofsted report.
I have many years of experience of working in education in schools in Peterborough and other local authorities. Over the last few years I have been working as an education consultant and gained a breadth of knowledge and experience that will allow me to be a very effective chair of governors as we seek to work with Simon Eardley and the staff team to continue to improve all outcomes for children at the school.
Children who attend Orton Wistow school are very fortunate because they have an inspirational headteacher who has put together an excellent team of staff that work with passion and dedication in one of the best learning environments in Peterborough. Following on from our Ofsted report, I will ensure our governing body continues to work in partnership with the school staff to bring about the best possible outcomes for every child that attends Orton Wistow.
