This week, we have been using our phonics knowledge to write words to match the pictures. First, we looked at the pictures and sound talked the words. We then identified the graphemes on the grapheme mat and use the Little Wandle formation phrase to write the sounds. This is a picture of Ella's excellent writing!
Emma from the Foxes has completed an observational drawing of a shell. She used pastels and a handwriting pen to colour her sketch.
The Koalas have enjoyed looking at the artist Andy Goldsworthy and creating some of our own artwork inspired by nature.
We produced some lovely wax reliefs and line drawn leaves, and then thought about composition to arrange them into a collage.
In Foundation Stage this week, we have been learning about how we grow and change. Nelly drew a picture of herself as a baby and of herself as she is now. She was able to talk about how she has grown and changed over time.
This week, Year 1 have continued their art pathway into spirals. We looked at where you might find spirals in nature and then created our artwork using pastels and chalks.

In Foundation Stage this week, the Turtles learn about the PRIDE Code and what each letter stands for. The children created a handprint to go on our Pride Lion to remind them to follow our school PRIDE Code.
