  • Netball Fixture

    Published 22/11/24

On Tuesday 12th November, the Year 5/6 netball team had their first fixture of the year. The girls had lots of nerves leading up to this event, but they couldn't have made me prouder. In the first quarter, the girls got to grips with marking their players. By the second half, it was amazing to see how much they had already learnt. We scored our first 3 goals in the second half, which was a massive confidence boost. The team showed great perseverance and I was proud of their sportsmanship and respect for Winyates. At our next training session, the girls were already implementing so many of the strategies, tips and tricks they had learnt from their game against Winyates. They are ready and raring to go and play their next game!

  • Jack Hunt Football Competition

    Published 22/11/24

On Thursday, 14th November, Year 3/4 students participated in a football tournament at Jack Hunt School. The Primary Schools' Year 3&4 Football Festival aimed to bring local schools together for a series of friendly matches, fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and community spirit.

Orton Wistow performed exceptionally well, winning every match and scoring some fantastic goals while conceding only a single goal throughout the tournament. The children demonstrated incredible skill, determination, and teamwork, making their school proud with their outstanding performance.

Beyond the results, the children were an absolute pleasure to be around, representing the school with positivity and sportsmanship.

The children will have 5 minutes at a station, with a 2-minute break to travel to the next one.

Once all of the children have completed all of the stations, we will offer the children the chance to take part in running races. Oh, and of course, parents too!
