OWN Trust Professional Days
After the October half-term, OWN Trust held joint professional days for Teaching Assistants, Support Staff, and Teachers across the three schools. It was an opportunity for staff to meet their counterparts in the other schools, share good practice, undertake training, and hear from keynote speakers Steve Russell and Shonette Bason-Wood. You can read more about the professional days by clicking on the links below:

Many of you will already be aware that Orton Wistow Primary School is part of the OWN Trust, a small but growing multi-academy Trust, which was founded in 2019 and includes the primary schools of Nene Valley and Woodston. As we launch the start of half-termly news updates from the Trust in our newsletter, we thought it would be useful to recap on the main aspects of the OWN Trust.
We are currently collecting used stamps in school for the RNIB. You can send the stamps into school with your child and place in the box in the school entrance.
The RNIB raise £20 for every kilogramme of stamps they receive. Stamps are sold by weight, so whatever you can send will add up to much-needed funds for their services. They accept all stamps: new or used, first or second class, foreign, first day covers, presentation packs or albums.
We have updated our OWPS Advent Calendar of stories! Whether you’d like to watch one a day, or all of them at once, they can be found by following this https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLG5wT1Pu6LOa1e2oCnM_RxN3KS_3EVVTR&si=Z1LYnr1vHdnTG03_
It’s not quite complete yet, so keep checking back for the last few days before Christmas...

The School Christmas Fair will soon be upon us, and we are looking forward to seeing you and the children there.
By Hannah Bass, FOWS Secretary
Here at Orton Wistow Primary School, we recognise that success comes in all different shapes and sizes! We celebrate the children's achievements in school in the Achievements section of the newsletter and website.
Many of the children, however, are also achieving things outside of school. We would like to recognise these successes too.
It might be that your child has passed a music or dance exam, gained a karate belt, starred in a show, volunteered, taken part in a sporting event, or done something that they didn't think was possible!
If you would like to share your child's achievements with us so that we can celebrate their success, please complete the Celebrating Success form which can also be found below. Contributions will be considered for inclusion in upcoming editions of the newsletter.
We look forward to hearing about your children's extracurricular achievements!
This Week's Successes!

This pupil in flamingos has had an outstanding weekend in her Irish dancing competition in Coventry:
She achieved 1st place, 2 x 3rd places and 1 x 4th place all in the higher ranked category.
Well done, we are very proud!
Don't forget it's our last Donation Day before the Christmas Fair on Friday 24th November next week. We would really appreciate any unwanted bottles of any sort, and as a reward, the children can wear their own jumper to school.
