Annual PECT Eco Awards

By Laura Porter, Teacher/FS Leader/Eco Co-Ordinator

Ms Porter and the Year 6 Eco Warriors went to the Annual PECT Eco Awards held at ARU in Peterborough.  The children participated in various activities, such as planting seed bombs, dissecting owl pellets, and using VR to identify ways to save energy in the home.  The children then presented the work all the Eco Warriors have been doing in school this year, explaining to a range of VIPs about our recycling options and how we promote sustainable travel and look after our school environment.  The children were a credit to their parents and the school as they eloquently explained what we do.  The representatives from Virador were very impressed with their presentation and invited them to their recycling plant to see how waste is disposed of.  The school was also awarded the prestigious Eco Charter award for promoting ways to be environmentally friendly school-wide.
