    The Wombats have thoroughly enjoyed exploring some new poetry this term. They were inspired by the poem ‘When The Colours Spoke’ by Grace Nichols, which led them to create beautiful watercolour paintings that reflected the colours and shades presented in the poem. Their inspiration didn’t stop there, the Year 5 children demonstrated their amazing writing skills by creating their own class version of the poem. This hangs proudly on the wall in the Wombats’ class.

    As part of our 'British Monarchy' topic, the Sharks have been reading 'Suffragettes' by David Roberts, and thinking about the lack of equality women have suffered throughout history, even when women have been on the throne. Auriol's work shows the editing session, which takes place after we have completed a piece of writing in Year Six.  You can see some of the Year Six GPS elements, which Auriol has used effectively.
