Friends of Orton Wistow School (FOWS)

The main reason people join the FOWS team is to get involved, because we all have one special thing in common – our children. FOWS work primarily to make our school the best we possibly can for our children.

Over the years FOWS has raised thousands of pounds, which has been used to improve equipment, resources, and the school environment to enhance our children’s education and school life experiences.  You may have seen some of them when visiting the school or speaking to your children – for example, Bookworm Wood, the Wistow Mile Track, the library mural, chrome books and a lot more.  However, FOWS is about much more than just fundraising. It exists to provide closer links between home and school, and it is an excellent way to bring staff, parents, and friends together socially in support of the school, working towards a common goal. It is great fun too!

As parents and carers of pupils at our school you are AUTOMATICALLY a member of FOWS and your voice counts.

FOWS is a team of volunteers working together for the benefit of our school. We all have commitments outside of FOWS with some working either full-time or part-time whilst others are full-time carers.  Some volunteers have specific skills whilst others enjoy getting stuck in and helping in a host of different ways. NONE of us are specialists in fundraising but together we can make a difference.

There are lots of ways you can help and support your child through FOWS. Please contact us via email; fows@owps.org.uk, like us on Facebook FOWS (Friends of Orton Wistow Primary School) | Facebook and follow us on Twitter @OWPSfows.
