Being independent is if you 'grab and pull' your splash suit yourself, no one needs to help you.

Foundation Stage Child

I show that I am independent when I come to school. I say bye to mummy at the gate and I come into school by myself. I put my bookbag and water bottle away independently and get ready for learning in the classroom.  

Year 1 Child

I am independent when I am doing my work.  I will only ask my teacher if I really need to.
